I blogged this back in December. I was making it secretly for a friend who had a baby due in January (mid summer here - whew!). She loves animals and all things green and environmental, so the feature fabric was perfect. I nearly bought it for her before she was pregnant and as soon as I heard I ran out and got it. Then I designed the quilt - from scratch. Wow. What a labour of love that was! I'm very pleased with how it turned out, and Bub has just got to the age where she is reaching for anything and everything colourful - and the quilt is a favourite! I find it hard to get a good photo of everything, as QuiltDog Patches just HAS to get in the way and test out every quilt!

Very summery quilt! If summery IS a word it described it perfectly ...
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and the frogs. Whimsical and fun :)
Love your doggy too. Mine always has to get on my quilts the second they're on the floor. What it is about dogs??
Beautiful bright colors - perfect for a baby!
ReplyDeleteAre those frogs small panels or did you applique the images?
Love the quilt and the dog!
ReplyDeleteThanks gals! I drew and fusible web appliqued all the creatures, then hand buttonholed them - yes i'm mad!
ReplyDeleteThat is just too stinkin' cute! I love the way the little squares frame each animal, and the animals are adorable. Great job!
ReplyDeleteSuper duper cute. What a fun, sweet quilt.
ReplyDeleteI have cats in all my quilt photos...I can relate. This is a fabulous LABOR of LOVE quilt. I did something similar when my Sister had her first, made a wallhanging to match her nursery decor.
