Fresh Flowers and Sunshine!

After weeks of RAIN, RAIN, RAIN and cold, after a chilly night (and 5C is chilly for us) we had a BEAUTIFUL winter's day here in Perth. Perfect for some quilt photography. I'll restrain myself and only show you a few.

This quilt was made with a charm pack of Deb Strain's Fresh Flowers and some Kona Tangerine with a red border. I used Elizabeth Hartman's Charm Squares baby quilt pattern. (I'm a bit of an OhFransson groupie).

The back is just as pretty as the front.

I stipple quilted it in white (I prefer using invisible thread, doesn't show the mistakes as much).
Of course, the quilt dogs had to get in on the action. Lainey is shyer - notice she's still wearing her coat from the chilly night?!

After I wash it again (thanks Patches), it will go on Etsy.
Aside from that and housework, I almost finished the bunny tree quilt, had soup and home made bread in the sun, planted some natives in my garden, and managed to get out for a walk around Lake Monger with my lovely friend Gary (who designed the banner - if you need video imaging done, he's your man).
Hope you're having a lovely weekend too!

  5. Hi Laura, found your blog over at Lily's. You make beautiful quilts! That rabbit quilt from the post below is soooo cute. I am sure you would make a lot of people happy with a tutorial. Could you also put HST in your quilt glossary for me? Hope to hear from you. Sana

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
