This is my first proper WIP Wednesday post (I missed the deadline last week!) with Freshly Pieced and my first GIVEAWAY at the same time. For those who've been following, I've added a MugRug World Tour page to my blog - the challenge is to make a mug-rug that represents a place - your state, country, or town. You can read more about it here and here.
I figure one QIP (quilt in progress) = many MIP (Mugrugs in progress) so here are mine.

Isn't the fabric gorgeous? I got it from FabricsDownUnder and the lovely owner Isabelle, on seeing my mugrug, offered me a free fat quarter to give away to someone who would like a little touch of Australiana in their home! I was excited to see that there was an Australian animal version of the fabric, not just the Australian bird one. So I have one fat quarter of the Australian animal fabric to give away (featuring platypi, roos, wombatts, goannas, tassie devils and a few other creatures).

ReplyDeleteThe batiks are lovely, I think Hand Dyed Batik TD021-173 is my favorite, although it's frustrating to only see a small square of each to compare them all-- tough choice! Good find though!
I love the cute possum fabric! I am starting to think about doing some handmade Christmas presents for the in-laws in Italy...this Aussie fabric would be perfect!!! Hopefully I get someone patient for my mugrug swap - I've never made one before, but promise to not stop until I perfect it! :)

ReplyDeleteTheir novelty prints are just toooooooooo cute, especially "Australiana Burrangong Kangaroo", "Ausralia Wild" and "Lollipop Monkey"... ;-) Tutorials are always great! The mug rugs would make great christmas presents!

Too many gorgeous batiks to choose from so I will go with the Circle Circus Owls. I love anything with owls on it :)
