Good fortune continues - Saturday

Gold, orange and red Kangaroo Paws
The arrival of my Good Fortune fabric pack coincided with the arrival of an Ipad and a solution to the on-going issue of the watch and the service from hell. The following day brought beautiful spring weather and a day off to sew and play (and clean the house and get ready to do my tax return - less fun). Would you look at my Kangaroo Paws? They've loved the rain!

Good Fortune block - purple with white cherry blossoms
Saturday, I went up to the store-from-hell to claim my credit note or my watch back. Smoker salesgirl breathed niccotine fumes at me and told to wait for the manager. I waited ten minutes while the manager finished dealing with some customers. As they left, she sneeringly mimicked them to Ms Smoker a meter or two in front of me. (Wondered what she'd be saying about me when I left but decided I didn't want to know). After a bit of debate, got my damaged watch back and headed down to the nice branch of the jewellers. It was their 108th birthday and they had 50% off stock... So my old damaged watch was exchanged for:
  • one new two tone Tissot
  • one gold braided necklace
  • one pair of gold drop earrings with small sapphires in.
Aren't I lucky?!!!

I have to say, there's a problem with this new Kate Spain line. I can't decide which fabric I love the best! These two purple ones are definitely in the running. I'm still not sure it's as lovely as Terrrain, but I haven't got my Terrain layer cake yet so the jury is still out. Good fortune has definitely grown on me more and more as I've used it.

Do you ever think of fabric as having personality? Some of the Good Fortune fabrics I fell in love with immediately. The introverts. The ones that were happy alone. There were some other fabrics that I kind of went 'meh' over. Until I realised they were extroverts. They were lonely and sulky until I put them with friends, and then they took on a whole new dimension and became life and soul of the party.

I have to say, I'm drawn to the introverts more. But a party wouldn't be much fun without the social-animals around to liven things up, so I'm glad I can work with both types!

One more gratuituous garden shot before I get back out in the garden - my Chicago Peace roses. :)

Enjoy the weekend y'all. (Sorry, too much True Blood - Southern accent has come out). :)

  2. heheh, I'm ready for a new Sookie book! (they are available as recordings for the blind pretty quick after publication)

You got a good lot of stuff with your watch exchange! That shop assistant should be demoted to toilet cleaning duties for a while!

  3. I'm glad the watch problem got sorted out - now you'll never need to go into that shop again!

And you certainly did well with a watch, necklace and earr-rings in exchange!

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
