Hi all,
I'm having a little break in Melbourne, Victoria which is a long way from home!
Melbourne has fabulous shopping, better food and is reputed to have four seasons in one day, so it is hard to pack for. I had to go and buy shorts my first day here. I am staying one road back from Bridge Road which is the outlet shopping centre of Australia, which is no hardship at all :)
There is a bar on every corner and eateries from every corner in between the designer outlet stores - the only trouble will be fitting it in my suitcase! And myself into my jeans... Honestly, japanese tapas with $7 cocktails and $6 soft shell crab... How can i not? I didnt bring running gear with me sadly - had to leave space for shopping.
Yesterday we went to Daylesford which is a spa town up in the hills and is very beautiful (and quite chilly!). I didnt take my camera or many photos but had to snap a shot of this family of geese with my phone. You should have heard them hiss when a dog went past!

As my friend is still taking work calls and ignoring me a bit, I dragged him to a couple of patchwork shops recommended by ShockingHocking (thanks Kay!) - would have done more but two were closed on Mondays. Did not buy much - have mentioned my difficulty with the whole inflated price thing and $28/m is just too much to justify. Did grab this little lovely to support one shop.

I had some thoughts on what would make a good patchwork shop - the first was more of a craft store and a little sterile. The second was an incredible Aladdins cave but a little old fashioned for me.
Anyway, more later - Melbourne is calling!
Cheers,
Laura
