Linking up with Magical Megan at Sew Modern Monday again!
And as it is my birthday (actual birthday not blog birthday) month AND I've reached 60 followers, AND the Glorious Gary has made me a new button (YAY!) it's time for a giveaway. So read on to the end!
Despite sewing machine problems (swapped machines three times, thread broke 237 times - well, almost) I managed to get a mugrug finished for my Quilt Club Australia facebook group. I was toying with the idea of giving her the mug rug below (which is a partner of my Mug Rug World Tour button mugrug).
However, after reading my swap partner's preferences, I decided to go with something slightly different.
My first effort machine quilting with metallic thread. Pretty pleased.
The fabric is a Kona Bay one - looks like stormy seas. I love it.
It works perfectly with the rainbow strips which were left over from the
Jewel Box quilt I started over 10 years ago! I knew I'd find a use for
them one day!!!
Very pleased with the finished result! (And another piece of Good Fortune - still thanking Kate Spain! - was finding dinner sets at 60% off and replacing my old one - hurrah!).
While I was taking this photo, this little fellow landed on the roses behind it and I managed to snap him.
It's a New Holland Honeyeater and they love nectar. They adore my garden for the mostly native plants (not the roses of course!). Speaking of HOLLAND...
The latest addition to the World Mug Rug Tour is a Dutch mugrug from Do in the Netherlands (did you like that segue?!. There are also new ones up from Kerry in Cornwell and Michelle Renee in Ottawa - beautiful work, check them out! And please join in if you live somewhere not yet represented or would like to show another image of your homeplace.
Now for the giveaway. I've ummed and ahhed over this, believe me.
I've TRIED to love Annela Hoey's designs and I thought I had a good chance with Little Apples.
But there are so many lovely fabrics that are demanding my attention more that I just know these guys are going to sit lonely and unloved in a drawer for a while... Someone else would take them out and play with them and love them so much more...
They have been opened - I had to open them and have a play and of course they wouldn't go back together nicely. But if you would like to win a set of Little Apples Charms (I borrowed the photo from Want it Need it Quilt - awesome Aussie online store, hope Jane doesn't mind!), all you have to do is:
1) Leave a comment (1 entry)
2) If you are a follower, or become a follower, leave a second comment letting me know. (1 entry)
Make sure you're not a no-reply blogger!
3) If you are really really nice and want to blog about this or put my shiny new button on your own blog post, you can have another... :) (yes I love my new button)
3) If you are really really nice and want to blog about this or put my shiny new button on your own blog post, you can have another... :) (yes I love my new button)
I will draw it on Sunday, midday Western Australian time (which I think means you need to get your entries in before midnight Saturday if you're in the US!).
Off to check out some more Sew Modern Monday linkys now!

Happy birthday to you ! Little Apples is so nice giveaway.
