TGIFF - of the Rabbit pattern and the Remarkable Rachel

EDIT: Hmm, the other side of the world must be running REALLY late, so the linky party is going up on the main TGIFF site shortly. Head along there to link up.

I am madly trying to finish a significant project (as that is what TGIFF is about for me) for my hosting next Friday. Luckily I have today off for CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) which is being held in my home town of Perth, Western Australia. Good day to be avoiding the city and the cavalcade that involves the Queen, our Prime Minister and numerous other dignitaries!

But to more important matters than CHOGM, this week's host of TGIFF is was to be Jess at Life Under Quilts but something must have happened, so you can link yours in on the main page or have a look at some of the others. If you're linking in, please put a TGIFF button on your post! :)

Laura's Rabbit Tree
This doesn't really count as a finish, but my Rabbit Tree quilt pattern got finished and emailed off to Australian Patchwork and Quilting magazine. I posted a peek a while ago, and lovely lovely Rachel was so enthusiastic and complimentary (and told me that she'd already started planning the fabrics for when the pattern came out next year!) that I asked her if she'd be interested in testing my pattern. She said yes (actually, she said "ARE YOU FOR REAL? WHEEE! I'D LOVE TO!!!" or something along those lines) and she has been  amazing. She was a bit concerned as she hasn't pattern tested before, but I warned her that I haven't written a pattern before so all's good and we learned together. :) And I made a new friend. :)
Rabbit Tree
As I was asked to make "a rabbit themed quilt in pink", I hadn't really envisaged it in any other colour. But have a look at Rachel's start... It's going to be stunning. I can't wait to see more pics.  This was taken 'on the fly' as Rachel was ducking around 10+ 18 year old footballers who she loves and tolerates because they said her quilt was 'cool'. :)

Now, hop on over to TGIFFriday!

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
