Sensible Saturday

It was raining, so I couldn't do washing. My neighbour borrowed my vacuum, so I couldn't clean. DARN. Sewing really the only option!!! Hurrah!

But I did do something sensible this Saturday.
Instead of succumbing to temptation (when some evil person in my facebook group mentioned that solids were on special somewhere), I went and tipped my solids drawer contents onto the ground.
It was outta control.

All those plastic bags contain the different fat quarters or half yards of the bottled rainbows quilt. One day I'm going to wake up and realise that I am NEVER going to make that quilt. But not today. I'll delude myself a little longer. So I cut up the strips I needed for the bottled rainbows and sorted the solids, along with all my other solids. I folded them into 10" sections then wrapped them around my quilting ruler.
Voila!

I feel a colour wheel quilt coming on!!!
This took quite a while, just from arranging and rearranging and looking at all the different pretty colour combinations. What fun. :)
I'd like to say this has stopped me buying more solids, but it's just given me a little more focus and stopped me buying duplicates. With only 2 months left until my fabric diet starts, I can't be too good!

Also, I love the postman this week. Here is what my Facebook quilt club mug-rug secret buddy sent me. She stalked my pinterest board and saw how much I like the Don't Look Now patterns, so she tried one for me. How sweet is that? Looks too pretty to use!
Hope you had a lovely weekend!
cheers
Laura

  3. Let me just tell you that a fabric diet is almost impossible when you love fabric that much! I just recently did the iron, organize, purge and counted up my fabric (Not counting pre-cuts, scrap bags, & scraps), which came up to a number totaling over 700 yards (or over 640.08 m). I went alone to the store to get food yesterday and still came home with a little fabric! And there was only part of one row in the whole store even with fabric!

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
