I only have one little finish to show today. I am GOING to work on the black monster for my TGIFF post on the first Friday in December. That has been the plan but so far I have been distracted. 


I picked this fabric up at a garage sale a couple of weeks ago for $2 (Marsha invited me to link in with her Frugal Friday, so if you are curious, go and have a look). With some new-found heavy duty fusible interfacing, I whizzed this beachbag up in no time. And I have fabric left over for another. Perfect for an Australian summer at the beach. :)

In other quilty news...

Sunni at LoveAffairWithMyBrother liked the idea I mooted in my last TGIFF post - i.e. starting a blogwar for notoriety and sympathy fabric gain. She's made a few lame attempts to slam me in comments, and I've made a few lame attempts to slam her back.  It's pathetic, she's just too darn nice to start a really good war. So I'm upping the ante and enlisting my troops.  Pop over to LoveAffairWithMyBrother and leave her a comment, preferably picking on her blog name - something like:

• "I am disgusted by the flagrant disregard for morality in your blog title. My church/synagogue/mosque quilt guild will be picketing/declaring a jihad on your blog. The 962nd line of the fourth book of our holy text deplores sewing machine incest and we will therefore be holding a Brother(TM) manual burning to protest your obscene practices. (PS Quokka Quilts sent me)."
• "As a breeder of Brother sewing machines that have won best of show in pure-bred categories, I am appalled that people such as yourself are crossbreeding them with Janomes and Berninas and FLAUNTING IT PUBLICLY. I have heard cases of Brothers being tied to lampposts to be impregnanted by any Pffaff or Juki that happens to come along but that you should be proclaiming your practices so blatantly in your blog banner is disgraceful. Shame on you. (PS Quokka Quilts sent me)". 

Feel free to steal these or make up your own but be prepared for reprisals! (I tried to post the first one but I think the word jihad may have triggered alarm bells in cyberspace - we will see if this gets posted.)


(I'm now trying to imagine what a quilty-cat-fight would look like in real life. Instead of mud-wrestling, sewing machine oil? Screwing up one another's tension so the thread snaps and those little birds' nests form? Instead of tearing hair out, taking little snips out of the middle of each other's fat quarters?  That would really make it a hole-y war.)
