Angel is a Centrefold?

Erin posted a really annoying song on her blog - so I'm retaliating. And before you ask, YES, I HAVE THE PHOTOS!!! (Photoshoot for Australian Patchwork and Quilting, March 21 edition).

One of the things I like most about interacting with people through blogs is getting to know some of the funny and talented people out there. It's especially good when you have the chance to really chat online (if not meet) and you 'click' in real time.

For new readers, I have to warn you. My sense of humour can be strange, controversial and downright warped at times. (And I sometimes use naughty words. Sorry.). Fortunately, there are others out there who are just as strange. Laughter makes my world go round, or rather, whatever causes laughter. Often, it's some of the comments I get on the blog. It's my fault entirely for cultivating and encouraging ridiculous suggestions like "you should quilt on the toilet" Danny, MommyForReals, or "pretend to be nude behind a quilt".

One recent chat with Miss Katy of The Littlest Thistle and my new BFF Erin of MissyMacCreations somehow got into trying to guess Katy's real first name. We'd been through the obvious ones (Katherine, Kathleen, Katrina).  Then conversation (also including ran something like this:

Laura: Kaitlin?
Katy: No. You'll never get it.
Erin:  Kermit?
Katy: It's a boy's name.
Laura: You have a boy's name?
Erin: Kevin?
Laura: You're a transvestite?
Katy: NO! Kermit is a boy's name.
Erin: Shame. Kermit would have been awesome.
Laura: Boring. Pity, I don't know any transvestite quilters.
Erin: I'm sure we could find some.
Katy: Maybe Giles would volunteer for the cause?

Conversation dissolves into hysterics.

I also have to thank you for the suggestions on how to quilt my Year of the Dragon Quilt. Danny again (I am renaming her Danny the Deviant) suggested I FMQ 'charred knights'. Thank you so much, that sounds manageble. I'll send the suggestion on to Leah Day for her next book. Giles suggested that I think of it from the Dragon's perspective. What would a Chinese dragon be dreaming of? "definitely some dim sum and those cute little cups of tea and some fortune cookies!". Again, will pass that onto Leah Day.

Now onto the photos.  (AP and Q has already contacted me expressing disappointment over the lack of firemen, so don't get your hopes up). The quiltdogs behaved. Being so old now, they were only slightly more animate than teddy bears. Which worked well for the photographer, Scott Davies of myexpressions.com.au.

And finally, the one you've been waiting for...

Fresh Flowers baby quilt and Laura looking like she's only wearing her birthday suit behind it.

I was fully dressed behind that quilt. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Weigh In WednesdayBy the way, if you have a New Year's weightloss goal and want some company, Erin at Missy Mac is running Weigh in Wednesdays. I know I don't REALLY need to lose weight, but 5kg have crept on and I am too lazy to go shopping for new jeans when the cooler weather rolls around. And toning up would be nice. So I'm in and reporting that this is going to be a regular Wednesday accountability thing for me. I got off to a good start and lost 1 kg today just by taking my gym shoes off. :)

  2. OK, you for got to weigh in right after the photo with the baby quilt...lack of clothing (c'mon, who is really gonna believe you only "look" like you are wearing your birthday suit??? Really? You thought we would fall for that line?)that should shed a bit more, oh, and if that fails there is always a hair cut, taking off jewelry, removing a foot, ya know the usual stuff. OK, seriously, back to your regularly scheduled blog...Love the photos! Will be looking for the issue here in the U.S.

  3. Teeth brushing... I'm not sure why I can't weigh myself before my teeth are brushed... cuz you know, it MIGHT make a difference.

  6. Oh dear, how did I get elbowed into that conversation??! Rather bizarrely, or disturbingly, I received a certificate at work last week that said "congratulations on completing your cross training" and my first thought was that made me sound like a drag queen! Oh dear ...

My work firewall seems to know what's what. It blocked your You Tube content. Well actually it blocks all multimedia content (how 19th century our firewall is), but I like to think it's exerting a certain critical quality in what it decides to block or let through ... it let through your exhibitionist photos ... maybe it knew you weren't starkers behind that quilt! ...

  7. Ow! Ow! Hot mama!! I know you were totally flashing the camera man between shots. Don't lie.

So, Danny the Deviant, huh? I think I can live with that.

And Giles, I think you should take one for the team. I have a pair of shoes you could borrow! :)

Laura, I found that chat if you want the transcript ;o)

And damn, Sarah outed me, that was meant to be secret...

    Anyway, love the pics!

  11. Katy, NO... Laura does not want the transcript. I think I need to put copyright on all my chats here on out. ;)

Yes, played the clip (and sang along). If you think ONJ was bad then have I got numerous treats for you over the coming weeks.

  13. Hehe, yep, Kermit would be such a great name. Maybe you can just pretend it is and call Katy Kermit from now on :)

Great pics! I love how the photographer got the colours in blaxk jewels to really pop.

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
