QAYGFMQAL Row 1 Linky party!

I've decided that every third week of the quiltalong will be break week so you can catch up, I can have a rest, and if you are all up to date, you can post what you've done. :)

I have seen a little bit of the progress through a couple of blog posts and via the Flickr group. Here's one of the early stand out ones that grabbed me - it's from Sonia at SewHappy. LOVE the colours and I love the flower block variation. :)

Free Motion Quilt Along Quokka Quilts

Now it has just been pointed out to me that I am a crap Quilt-a-long leader and I MAY not have mentioned that quilting should only happen in the coloured squares at this stage. I definitely haven't mentioned it enough. Sorry. There are a few methods for joining QAYG blocks, but the one I know involves leaving the borders free to join the blocks together with... I am glad a certain quilter is in Canada and can not hunt me down and kill me (well, not easily). SORRY!

The next two weeks / four squares will be 'pointy' designs. Straight lines and pointy bits, moving away from the rounds.

Now, what have you been up to? Link up! :)

  6. Who called you a crap QAL leader?! Definitely not me! I just suck at reading directions. ;) Don't worry, there are other qayg techniques that will work with a fully quilted block if anybody else did what I did. Just don't make me have to say on my blog that I got kicked out of a QAL for not being able to follow directions! ;)

  8. I'm only 1 block behind...I'm feeling very intimidated by spirals, since I've never done them before. I'd better practice first!! But, I'm afraid even with practice my spirals may be, um, "unique".

Will you be showing us how you join your blocks, or point us to some tutorials on how to sew our blocks together?

    I will post pics later!

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
