Like I don't have enough on my plate, I signed up for the typography challenge over at Ricochet and Away.
To be honest, I already had an inkling of an idea for a mini project to trial my Aurifil threads properly when this came up, but as this is very much me:
I'm also meant to be doing QuiltJane (aka Evil Fabric Temptress)'s Dress up your roll challenge but I kinda ran into sewing machine problems and life happened and my AWESOME winning idea (which I will tell you was based around a series of world monument's decorating toilet rolls - there was going to be a VatiCAN one for you Poop and a list of others I can't remember right now).Yes, MORE machine errors on top of everything else life has thrown at me recently. I had just about worked the machine out, managed to adjust the bobbin tension which was set incorrectly (or something got knocked during shipping) and work out how to use the free motion WITHOUT the Bernina Stitch Regulator (ugh, my brain, hands and feet work together fine thank you very much, faster than the computer apparently) when this happened:
FATAL error? The Yellow Screen of Death? (Sewing Computer?!) And it kept happening... So back to the shop with it today and should get it back Tuesday. Well, I can try to catch up on blogging and planning, designing and cutting. I do need it for the QAYGFMQAL and there is so much else to be quilted but it's still pretty darn hot to be sitting under a quilt so it's more piecing season...

ReplyDeletehave you considered time travel? ... back to when sewing machines were foot powered and didn't have screens of death in any colour? ... I think maybe there's a gremlin living in the walls of your house and it has a thing against sewing machines! ... When you reverse stitch do your sewing machines play subliminal messages telling you to cut up all your stash into shreds ... maybe you need to get the machine exorcised?

The typography challenge looks fun, that's the first time I've EVER looked on pininterest for anything and I had to get off quickly because I was getting sucked in!
