A typography WIP

I have too many projects on the go, but I sillily (yes it's a word, I just decreed it to be so) signed up for

I had the concept. I have the threads. I had promised to product review the lovely Aurifil threads Mr Alex sent me. (He is remaining Mr Alex as I forgot my Italian and I think I confused Italian spelling with Spanish and no one pointed it out to me. But I am embarrassed about it so Mr Alex it is).

Have you ever tried to design something around a collection of random thread colours? No, me neither.

There is some lovely variagated blue thread I wanted to use, so that is where I started. It remained like this for weeks.

Alone, blue seemed too sombre and I didn't have the time (or the drawing paper frankly) to draw my designs out properly. So I procrastinated.

Then time started running out and desperation set in. I used some of the templates from Kelly of Don't Look Now's pattern which I bought but will never make. (cough). Here's the start of the applique.

We shall see if I get this cushion cover finished in time...  Any bets? I'm thinking NOT. But I surprise myself sometimes.

There's meant to be a second cushion case to go with it, so you can put the two together to say "Create ..."
But I'm not telling you what the second word is.

WIP Wednesday at Freshly PiecedWhat would yours be? I'm going to giveaway my second pack of Aurifil threads to the best AUSTRALIAN (ok, or New Zealand) answer. Cos we are deprived of Aurifil down here and our postage is a pain in the aurifil.

Feel free to answer anyway but tell me if you're an Aussie/Kiwi! If you're not, there's still time to go back a couple of posts and enter the international aurifil giveaway.

  1. I say 'Create Joyfully'. Either that or Create Chaos, which is what seems to happen any time I start designing things.

    I'm in Canberra.

  2. I would put Hope after the Create. It could be taken as a phrase Create hope, or two seperate words, both to inspire. I reckon it is going to look great. I'm in Victoria

  23. "pain in the aurifil" is funny cos it's true.

Love some of the answers - "chaos" and "mayhem" are right up my alley.

My second cushion might say "live", I think - because to create IS to live.

  24. I'd like my answer to be more witty "and colourful" but I think cushion two should be Unlimited.
Witty & colourful, get it? Haha.
