PMQG

Oh no, not another weird acronym!!!
Our Quilt Club Australia on Facebook has grown outta control, and Erin (of slackMissyMac) has been keen to get a chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild going locally, so she created a logo to prod us Perthlings into action. Isn't it lovely?!

So six of us met for drinks by the Swan River one evening and found we got along splendidly, so a monthly meeting has been born. The second meeting happened Sunday night and seven people made it along.

Now if you are thinking we meet in a stuffy church hall and sew, you'd be just a touch off the mark. That's not how we roll in Perth.

THIS is how we roll.

Jodie's back porch (will you look at that wood panelled ceiling?! That blue light is a mozzie zapper in the background).

Food, wine...

And of course, what any modern quilt guild needs....
Having recently taken a stab at American English, I should point out that in the local Perth dialect, 'Modern Quilt Guild' translates to mean "No sewing but a fair bit of wine drinking".

We did do SOME show and tell. McKenna has put together a brilliant slideshow, so I won't add too many more. But if you're wondering about spa-decor, Jodie can offer some tips. That's her double-wedding ring hanging over the spa (McKenna showing off her lovely modern HST quilt).
Kat's latest finish was just gorgeous.
And Jodie had a zillion quilts to show, so here's just a couple.
Bev had a dolly quilt top ready to sew, and was the only one who actually DID any sewing. (Hey, we had other priorities).

So that was the second meet of the PMQG. Roll on the next one. We have every intention of sewing, but I guess we'll have to wait and see!
