These last few days feature a few of my besties so hop along and check them out. Don't forget to check out the linky party on the 30th, and join up whether you've hopped or not! It's not too late to do a block in time as Bev found out at our Perth Modern Quilt Guild meeting when she remembered that it was her turn the NEXT DAY and 5 people pitched in to help her choose fabrics and taught her how to EPP! Anyway, here are the final five
25 Bev @ Missy Bee, That's Me
26 Danny @ Mommy For Reals
27 Laura @ MayYourBobbinAlwaysBeFull
28 Nic @ Dragon Rambles
29 Dana @ Sea Sew
And so here is probably not my last, but my last post for the alotted pic-stitch timeframe. For this one, I'm taking you back to Hoover Dam.
Tammy at Marmalade Fabrics put together this lovely bundle which she has called Dam It (GROAN!).

Yum, yum yum - but I digress. My photos of Hoover Dam looked nothing like Tammy's.
Brown is NOT my colour, but there certainly is a lot of it in that area!
So here is my first block. I mixed in some Indie from the Fat Quarter Shop, because it was just right with this bundle!

It contains:
- Basic Grey Grunge Blue
- Mod Century Bubbles Turquoise
- Center City Midtown Palm Springs
- Hope Valley Pie Basket Fiesta
- Kona Bison
I LOVE that Basic Grey Grunge. And I have THREE of them from Tammy!

I decided I didn't like the two different encircling colours, so I unpicked the brown... which meant a whole lot more blocks had to be planned! I think I may be having a blue and aqua cushion cover coming!
These are actually more my mum's colours, but they are growing on me... and she is not into patchwork.

I think these are going to come together nicely. :)
Don't forget to come back on Friday for the linky party!! It will be open for 5 days so you have PLENTY of time! As I haven't finished, let's link up with Lee at Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday... :)

Laura, I love your "dam" photos and look forward to seeing the blocks. (PS *I* like brown. Just sayin'.)

ReplyDeleteLike you, I am not a fan of brown and there seems to be a lot of it in the desert. Next year I am going to try this exercise. Ran out of time this year. I've loved your EPP. Must bring my hexie quilt to the next meeting. x
ReplyDeleteI love these colors! I need to go find that speckle print I think. :)
