Introducing ... Scarlett

After weeks of black and white misery, with Lainey getting sick and passing away and Melody being miserable, it was time for a little colour in our lives. So we thought we'd add some scarlet to brighten things up.

This is Scarlett.

2.4kg of 8 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in the black 'n' tan colour-way. I've had tricolours and blenheims (brown and white) before. The drawback to black-n-tan is that they are harder to see in the dark as there is no white to give her away..

I also didn't realise there was a free shredding service included in the package.

She's also eaten her first piece of fabric. I'm so proud of her.

She's a lively little independent creature. She had the dog door figured out in about 5 minutes flat and is keeping both Melody and I on our toes keeping up with her.

Melody has been VERY gentle and tolerant of the needle-teeth attacks which have been launched on her ears and tail, and hasn't once 'laughed' in the face of the 'viscious' growls that sound like a hummingbird or an extra-large mosquito. Melody has played with her beautifully - so nice to actually see her playing! She's worked out that her ears and tail are the favourite chew toys and will FLAUNT them in Scarlett's face and then take off around the garden starting a ridiculous chase/wrestle fight, which involves Melody rolling Scarlett over very gently when she gets too rough and pretending to get bowled over herself. So amusing to watch.

They are getting on like a house on fire.

Scarlett has also discovered DIM (Dog In Mirror) but Melody is much more entertaining.

The Pantone colour of 2013 might be emerald, but around here, it's all about Scarlett!

Just to finish off the bloghop, Tammy of Marmalade picked the winner of her bundle from the finalists. Congratulations to Lucy of Charm About You who is also about to hear the patter of tiny feet... of a different kind!

  11. So glad you and Melody are both having fun with your new toy. I see you avoided the musical names in the end, such a shame, I could just see you shouting 'Arpegio' across the park... ;o)
