I finished the Terrain top - it just required borders. I decided to go with a dark blue tone-on-tone border - it really makes the rest of the quilt pop!
I tackled my long-neglected Good Fortune blocks
and came up with half a top... I have a bit of an idea where this is going but you will have to wait and see...
I had some time to get into Elizabeth Hartman's Craftsy class and put together a low volume mini quilt top from layer cake squares, including some Good Fortune.
Let me tell you, putting together the puzzle pieces after a few drinks... was quite time consuming to say the least!
I am not sure what this is going to become. It's a bit small and an awkward size, so I will have to have a think... It may turn into a wall hanging if I don't come up with a better plan. Any thoughts?? Maybe two nice cushion covers?
And this is NOT Kate Spain themed, but I have my Mondrian top basted and under the machine - finally!

I am loving the straight line quilting on the Mondrain. :) x
ReplyDeleteoops that would be Mondrian I am thinking. :)
ReplyDeleteWow. Looks like you've been quite busy!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm feeling like a slacker, but hey--I've been busy the rest of this month.
ReplyDeleteKidding. I loved reading about all your projects, from a Craftsy class, to dusting off projects-in-process and getting them going again. You have beautiful Kate Spain quilts going--she does have the dreamiest fabrics.
Bravo to you for tackling all these terrific projects!

Terrain is my probably all time favourite fabric. And your quilt looks amazing with the dark border that really sets it off. Wonderful...
ReplyDeleteAll of those quilts are beautiful, and so different from each other!
ReplyDeleteOoh, Mondrian! :D
ReplyDeleteBut I love the Terrain quilt! I've been looking at that pattern for a while and wondering if it's very complicated.
Yours looks beautiful!
Really like the Terrain Top. An interesting, unusual pattern!
ReplyDeleteLove the Terrain quilt. I have a layer cake of that and I've yet to figure out what to make with it.
ReplyDeleteOk....all are lovely, but I love the Mondrian quilt!!!

Got to love a sewing retreat for getting things going. Some great projects there. Your machine will need a rest for a bit to recover!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your terrain top...I have a stash of terrain waiting to be made into something lovely too.

ReplyDeleteYou are out of control! So much going on, and all so beautiful. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's willing to get behind the sewing machine after a glass of wine. I think it might inspire more creativity! hehe Oh, and LOVE tapas.. yum, yum, yum.
ReplyDeleteBusy busy busy! I LOVE Terrain! I wish I had made a quilt out of it, instead I made a whole collection of little dresses and playsuits! Lucky I still have my magical bag of scraps :)
ReplyDeleteWow so many beautiful projects! Love that Mondrian quilt.
