I had a weekend in the lovely Balingup with the quilt-dogs, Ms Bernette and a very noisy rat (4 hours sleep 2 nights in a row - not happy). A gorgeous view, a French bakery and a closing down sale patchwork shop on the way back made up for the rat though. Oh and a trip to Barecca's winery where I discovered a kindred spirit and some lovely Zinfandel. I may not be up for Farmer wants a Wife, but when they do Viticulturalist wants a Wife, I'm there! Here's the result of my long weekend away - Amy Butler's Soul Blossoms (border to be added). Am really unsure as to how to quilt it tho! Any suggestions? Geometric? Florally? Hand/Machinee?
This lovely package arrived from FabricWorm - no reason, just because! Then I found out that an ex-colleague is pregnant, having a boy and has painted his room aqua. Fate? What will I do with these lovely fabrics?
Another happening was an Advanced Pasta Class at The Cooking Professor with the evil Sophie Budd, who introduced me to 'butter sauce'. (Sophie: this pasta is lovely with a simple butter sauce. Me: what's in a simple butter sauce? Sophie: Butter. Duh!) Lots more gym work required... However, at Pasta Class, I met a fellow quilt-maniac and we discussed patchwork over pasta. Jodie then offered to set me up with a man on a blind date. Of course, my first question was "does he have a long arm quilting machine?" Unfortunately not, so I'll think about it, but I'm holding out for Charlie Pickering. He looks like a man who would appreciate well matched points and a neat blanket stitch. ;)
I was quite excited to get a blog comment from a quilt-blogging celebrity I follow, Cyndi of Bluebird'sWing who is having a fabulous giveaway. Apparently my settings are wrong and don't show up my email address, so she was kind enough to tell me. Thanks Cyndi!
Finally, I often joke about balancing the laptop and lapdogs. Here is photographic proof!
