Tigger-bouncy good fortune day

I knew today was going to end well. I mean, I had a massage booked and tomorrow off. But I was unprepared for the extent of my good fortune...

First of all, I found this website... It's the "Quilter's Shirtless Man and Spicy Burrito Calendar". It made me laugh like a hyena.

I think The Bitchy Stitcher is going to be my new favourite blog.

Got home to
A) fabric delivery on doorstep
B) $350 worth of shopping vouchers...

As Thursdays are late night shopping here, (yes people) we have ONE night we can shop after 5:30 and shops only open 6 days a week) I shot down the shops. (Is that Aussie slang? I mean I moved fast to get there, not that I gunned it down. We may only have 6 shopping days a week but we don't have guns... sorry. cheap shot. oops. dammit I didn't mean that!)

One errand I have not been looking forward to is replacing my watch on Saturday. A certain anonymous jeweller (lets call them M..zz..llis) at a certain branch (lets call it Joon...lup) has been setting new records for service lows... You wouldn't believe it if I told you. Long story short, after several weeks of frustration and rudeness (on their part), they agreed (rudely) to replace my one year old scratched "unscratchable" watch which did this unspeakable thing, as well as the black scratching off:

I type for a living, not break rocks... Not looking forward to going in on Saturday to see the store manager whom I overheard telling her staff to tell me she'd gone to the toilet. Anyhoo, I decided to select replacement watch at different store so I could dash in and out in minimal time on Saturday without them all glowering at nasty difficult customer. Well, the lady at the OTHER store couldn't have been nicer! I felt so bad about pretending to be buying something from her that I ended up explaining all and she told me that the staff of the difficult store had all been sacked, told me what to say to get a credit note and to ring her if I had problems! And she found me a lovely watch!

So then I took my vouchers to the hifi store and - well, here is a pic of the end result of my day!

Kate Spain's NEW, due out in January - I don't know HOW I got hold of it, but I did - line, in a layer cake, aptly named Good Fortune. Seemed to work for me today! And, remembering blind bloggers, the photo also shows my SHINY NEW IPAD2. (And Kate Spain's Good Fortune is oranges and blues and purples and greens and dragonflies and cherryblossoms and oriental symbols...)

And just to rub it in:

  1. Wow Laura, Congratulations to you and your lucky day! Wonderful shoppings and how great you finally got your watch changed!
We have even more difficult times for shopping, like to hear? Monday, Wednesday, Saturday 9-14 and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9-14 and 17:30-21. Offices and banks are open about 8-13. Difficult!

  2. Wow! I thought all Aussies could now shop seven days a week! I was wrong! Here in Western Sydney we even have a department store that is open 24 hours!

Hope the watch situation turns out well. Everything else was certainly going your way. Those new fabrics are gorgeous.

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
