No brainer

I went to bed with a headache, got woken 6x by one dog (who wanted to either a) sleep on the bed or b) bark in the garden - neither were allowed) and once by the other, and woke up with the mother of all headaches at 4:30am. As I get nasty migraines that involve nonstop vomitting and trips to the dr (my friends are on roster - I try to share the vomitting around as much as possible), I took drugs while I still could and so was semi conscious for half the day. So I needed a no brainer when I started functioning (evidently still not there as I accidentally posted this to the wrong blog...). Starting to hand quilt this - straight lines, no nonsense - seemed perfect.

I used a grey perle cotton to match the grey linen stripes, and I really like the look. (Picture is a shade too dark). However, I am new to hand quilting in anything but standard Guterman handquilting thread or normal cotton + beeswax. I bought embroidery needles as advised but could barely thread them, and the thicker the needle, the harder to pull it through. I'm finding a medium sashiko needle the best. There was only one weight of perle cotton, so maybe it is a little thick. Any advice for buying - needles or thread - for hand quilting? Need somewhere online that delivers to Australia. :)

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
