Bags of fun

Before I headed for Lombok to catch up with my buddies, I wracked my brains over what to take them as gifts. I thought something personalised would be nice, so I raided my stash and my pinterest 'random sewing' board where I'd been pinning bag tutorials and decided to go with the Olivia Bag.

I particularly love that the one on the right has an Australian Aboriginal art feel to it.

It is a fabulous tutorial (loved using freezer paper for the pattern) but I didn't follow it precisely - I was too rushed and didn't have the zips handy to do zip-in pockets, so I invented my own and finished them with magnetic snaps. And the bags are a perfect size with the straps just the right length to wear across the body or over the shoulder.

The girls made me choose who got which so I went with the brown for Elly and the black n bright for Utty. Utty and I are very much alike - in thinking, in figure and in style, so that's why I thought she should get the more Laura-coloured one. They loved them. Elly almost slept wearing hers, and it matched her wardrobe choices perfectly!

And Elly even found a new way of wearing them!
I'm going to have to make myself one now!!!

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
