The Dragon is done, but the second Rabbit Tree is not. And both require special rod pockets and quilt bags. What a pain...
So, your advice please:
I'm wondering whether to do less spirals on this version - the dense spirals around the tree are nice, but I kinda like how they look like ghost leaves of a tree covered in full foliage. By keeping them going right to the edge of the white, that effect is lost.
What do you think? Keep spiralling or vary?
Looks great Laura. How about making your spirals bigger as you radiate out from the center ??
ReplyDeleteI agree that the spirals grouped around the tree add an interesting dimension that would be lost if you continue the same design all the way to the edge. I would quilt the remaining part differently, with more space.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! Could you make the spirals less dense as they go to the outside?
ReplyDeleteI agree with the first 3 ladies, change pattern or make the spirals bigger. Love the look.
ReplyDeleteKeep spiraling girl!

I'd change it up too, either bigger spirals as Rhianon said or maybe wind swirls or something to that effect. It looks wonderful so far, Laura!
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous!! I'd leave the spirals as is, I really like the effect. I'd go for something different in the rest of the space
ReplyDeleteI like the "ghost tree" too. You should vary.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhh that is an adorable piece.
ReplyDeleteDang...I don't know...I kinda like the ghost thing...
ReplyDeleteOoh, I think it would look great if you vary the pattern on the outside of the swirls. But then, you probably know best for your own quilt. Either way, it will be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI know it's been mentioned, but I was thinking bigger spirals as you radiate outward too. I like the ghost thing too and it would be less work, so you could do that as well.
ReplyDeletei think it looks awesome this way, definitely keep the ghost look and use a different variation for the rest :)
