WIP and PMQG Rides again

I haven't WIP Wednesday'd for a while, so I figure it's time.

After getting the two quilts ready for QuiltWest (opens tomorrow but I can't go till Saturday - stinky work!) I had to decide what to work on next. When I saw M-R's post of her WTFMQAL, there was really little choice.

Yes, it's a FINISHED QAYGFMQAL quilt! Go and have a look at M-R's full post over at Quilt Matters! It's stunning and it's her entry to the Blogger's Quilt Fair. I'm so proud I had a little bit to do with such a beautiful quilt. :) I squeaked and jumped up and down and emailed Leah Day and said "look what you and I inspired". It's almost like three of us had a baby with Leah and I being the daddies and M-R doing all the hard work. (Well, not really, but I was pretty darn pleased I can tell you). I wish I'd done mine in white now.

So I attacked mine on the weekend. There are a thousand threads to hide and snip. It's driving me nuts. But it is going to be beautiful. And photographed better than a crappy hung-on-the-line shot.

This is the first QAYG quilt I've done. I know there are a thousand joining methods and as a first, my technique is probably not the best, but quilting across the borders of the whole thing I'm finding some puckers. :( What I would like to know is:

Is QAYG not the method for perfectionists, or have I done something(s) wrong?

Finishing this is high on my agenda. Twill be done for my next turn at hosting TGIFF. Then there's the pile of others waiting to be quilted or piecing part done... And that tempting stash of fabrics saying "start working with me NOW please..." I have to stick my fingers in my ears and say 'tra-la-la' to it.

Safari animals baby quilt (hand sewing with non-aurifil perle-cotton after using Aurifil is driving me mental)

Terrain Stepping stones - border, then baste.

Sooo  many others in pieces!

The Perth Modern Eating Drinking Quilting Guild also met again. I made this:

McKenna (not Ryan, a different one) made this (Daphne tested most of the show and tell by sitting on them).

 And we actually have a CHALLENGE for next meeting! We all took along a fat quarter, threw them in the middle, pulled out Tracey's Accuquilt, cut random shapes and all took a ziplock baggy  home with an assortment of pieces in. The challenge is to come up with something by our next meeting and take it along to show everyone. I have NO inspiration as yet...
