Thank Goodness It Got There Friday

This post could alternately be called "One good turn deserves another". You might remember that Ms Kate Spain very kindly sent me and a couple of others some offcuts of her Good Fortune line. It was a VERY generous bundle. Well, I asked if Kate would like a version of my windows bag as a thank you for all that lovely fabric, and the answer was yes...

I showed a sneak of a secret project with my double zipper pocket tutorial. Well, that project got there yesterday. (I've been having mail dyslexia with a parcel for Danny being returned TWICE because I got the zip wrong the first time and the street wrong the next).

Yesterday, the project arrived safely at its destination, at Chez Spain in the US.

I used a beautiful purple shot cotton from Bali - figured I was safe with purple being intimately acquainted with both Terrain and Good Fortune - and put scraps of Good Fortune behind the windows.

You really can't see the sheen on the fabric from here. I love purple and I love shiny, so I was very sad to put this in a post bag and send it packing! I quilted it in a lovely regal purple Aurifil cotton as well.

I sacrificed my last decent sized piece of Terrain (it was a wrench) for the bag's interior. Someone said to me that bag interiors don't matter. I beg to differ. This bag and my own aqua version make me smile each time I peep inside.

Here's the whole bag.
And me modelling it. (Don't you love those Australian mid-winter skies?!)

It's a tiny bit long on me as I have the (possibly erroneous impression) that Kate is taller than me - I'm 164cm or about 5'4. Anyway, the photos don't do it justice, but I'm so glad it got there and so glad Kate likes it!

Now I'm off to check out the other finishes over at Nicole's for TGIFF.

Oh and I've got a couple of giveaways coming up to celebrate the 400 follower mark, so come back Monday to check out the first!

  2. It's fab, and sure it was most appreciated (but admit it, you didn't really want Danny to get that parcel, did you? Was it jammies? ;o) )

PS, just realised that we're going to look like little and large on this trip, oh dear *sigh*

Love the bag. Well, hardly surprising since it's purple. And yes, the insides to bags do too count :)
