Blocks and bunting, bits and bobs...

Ok, ok, the voting has closed and the judges are conferring. You'll just have to be patient. (Suez, I'm looking at you young lady. Sit still and stop fidgeting).

I'm linking up with Lyn at What a Hoot for the first time for BOMs away.
I'm not a very 'blocky' quilter, but I've been doing a Bee with QCA Australia on Facebook and I'm a bit behind. This is November's block.

I managed to screw up the colour order. Everyone elses goes ANTICLOCKWISE black-white, but mine goes clockwise. DOH. That's not an unpick job - that's a start again job. Maybe I'll be able to sew a straight line this time.

I'm also not a very Christmassy person (humbugs anyone?) but my neighbour (who has won world's best neighbour 6 year's running) was wanting some bunting.
(Look at that scrap of December sky, ladies!)
We broke out the pinking blade rotary cutter and I introduced her to the wonders of using a rotary cutter over scissors.

  1. Oh, no! Well, it's a good block for a pillow or something if it doesn't work with the others. :D Turning things the wrong way is a total ME thing to do. :)

So nice of you to help your neighbor with the bunting!

  2. Not at all jealous of the warmth there - we had sun and blue skies, it's just about 1 C here and frosty!

  3. Great bunting! I can honestly say, I can't see anything wrong with the bee block! ( did I win?? ;-))

  4. Well, I still think it looks cool even if that's clockin' in the wrong direction! :)

  6. Laura, I'm so glad that someone with your experience still makes mistakes -- it makes me feel better! LOL

It's a lovely block and I'm sure you'll find a good use for it.

  7. It looks both clockwise and anticlockwise to me. Am I missing something?
Since you admitted the xmas thing, I'll admit that I have no decorations up, nor tree, and this will be the 5th xmas in a row that I don't bother. Maybe next year. Oh and I'll also admit (and risked being stoned from the blogging community), I just don't get bunting. I will never make any and if anyone gave me some I'd politely thank them then give it to some wierdo, um, I mean person, who does get bunting :)

Yippee - you're commenting! I _love_ comments. :) I've had so much spam lately though that I'm limiting to registered users for a bit to see if that works... If you're a friend, you can find me on Facebook and comment that way if you have trouble.
