It's starting to get cool around here. After catching my terrible teen with her nose about to go into my red wine glass when I left the room (honestly, kids these days!), it was obvious she needed warming up. Between the terrible teen and the 2.5 year old being a terror ... Ok, you know I'm talking about Melody, don't you? 2.5 real years, 17ish in dog years. Best of both worlds.
I had the fabric stashed but decided I'd never get round to making the quilt I wanted to with it, so I sacrificed it in the name of dog fashion. I used a wool batting and backed it with polar fleece - nice and cosy and snug! Quilted it first and then added binding.
I made the bias binding myself (on the bias) using my magic automatic electric bias maker. It's not perfect but it's a darn site easier than ironing it yourself.
Velcro tabs and fastening for impatient models. Zigzag stitching for impatient seamstresses.
Very recalcitrant model. She's lucky she didn't get pinned.
Nicely done, and Miss Model looks like she need a treat...maybe not the wine...LOL
ReplyDeleteAdorable! My dogs would never go for it. They just stand there like they have the cone of shame on.
ReplyDeleteaww, that's adorable! I can't believe your teenager! oh wow.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I am working on a dog coat too. I have the pattern pretty well made-just want to add some details. I am going to use an old wool skirt that I had. Wish me luck that mine turns out as nice as yours!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorfeous model you have there - even if she does like a drink now and then!!!
ReplyDelete"Mum, mum, there's a cat on my back. Wait, there's another. And another... Mum, cat's are attacking me, they're attacking me..."
ReplyDeleteSorry, couldn't resist :)
Great jacket and cute model shots
OH MY GOSH! This is the cutest and most hilarious thing I've ever seen!! There's just something funny about dog coats!
ReplyDeleteShe looks adorable though, think you should make a superhero one too :)
My friend has a little dog and it shivers so I might make her one :)
You're crazy! But I bet your pups will be toasty, cozy in that cold Australia air!
ReplyDeleteBTW, my husband tried doing an Australian accent today... hilarious! Thought of you!
Oh that is just too cute! If we ever move somewhere cold I'll have to make a whole bunch of those for Emma Jane! And Emma prefers sticking her nose into beer instead of wine!
ReplyDeleteNow I know what a hang dog expression looks like... ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute dog coat and what an adorable dog! Love the fabric!
